My Artwork Collection "Interrupted Lush No. 3" by Kaylee Dalton

Every year I purchase a piece of artwork for my own collection.

This piece of artwork always connects to the theme of that year, the artists I fall in love with, and my own creative growth. This is a practice I only started in 2018 when I purchased “All I Need ” by Deann Reeves, and is a tradition that I plan on continuing for the rest of my life.

Early last year I discovered Kaylee Dalton’s mixed media pieces - I had an instant connection to them. Each piece is a delicate array of mixed media, with so many colours, pieces and shapes pieced together. I find them so captivating!

2019 was a huge year of growth, not only within my creative business, but within my personal life as well. And growth is… well… messy. Chaotic even. I made the beautiful (and terrifying) transition from hobbyist to emerging artist which meant huge steps in my creative business in terms of commission intake and time spent in my studio.

The piece that I had to bring into home, Interrupted Lush No. 3, captivated me from the first time I laid eyes on it. There was just something about the lush green leaves that grew tall and proud out of the chaos surrounding it.

She is now proudly displayed on the wall in my studio, and I’m so in love!
